BREAKFAST -KACANG POL/FOUL

I've been googling around for breakfast menu, for d past few days. Looking for something different to be served to my family. So, this was d result.. It was our last weekend's breakfast.

Very popular breakfast in Johor.

Let me introduce you to Kacang Pol / Kacang Foul / Kacang Parang.

It is to be taken with toasted bread. Garnished with sliced green chilli & onion. And also being topped with telor mata kerbau. BUT as for my version, i topped with d half boiled egg.


KACANG POL

7 ulas bawang merah                
4 ulas bawang putih                 
1 1/2 sb jintan kasar (sangai)    
1 1/2 sb ketumbar (sangai)       
1 tin kacang foul - half, u blend & d other half u just mash a bit
1 cawan daging kisar
1 sk serbuk cili (optional - kalau nak pedas)


Cara-cara :
1. Blend halus bwg merah + bwg putih + ketumbar + jintan kasar.
2. Tumiskan bahan- bahan yg dikisar tadi sehingga pecah minyak dan naik bau.
3. Masukkan daging kisar.
4. Masukkan kacang mashed & blended kacang foul.
5. Put in garam & serbuk cili, as per your taste.
6. Let it boil for a while.
7. Then, done.

Original resepi, they will use minyak sapi untuk menumis dan menggoreng telor mata kerbau tu.  For a nice aroma, i guess.. Tapi, i guna butter untuk menumis & as i told earlier, I made half boiled egg to accompany d kacang foul.


Taste good to me. Unfortunately, it was not my kids' taste. They seem do not like the Kacang Pol but they really went mad with d half boiled eggs.
 I end up, prepared half boiled eggs for them, without the Kacang Pol.

BISKUT DAHLIA - Special Request By My Son

Last but not least.. my FINAL MISSION, to make BISKUT DAHLIA for my son.. 
What a mission..

MISSIONS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY CNY, HAVE BEEN COMPLETED..

It was a long time request from my youngest son, which I didn't manage to carry out.. 
Bukan tak nak buat, tapi i believe u guys pun faham, nak buat biscuit ni.. nak kena tunggu mood juga.. Kalau tak kena mood, tak jadi u..

Normally, it is compulsory to have his favourite's biskut dahlia during Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Haji.. This time around, he has been caught in Upin & Upin Hari Raya Episode in YouTube, whereby Kak Ros made the biscuit for Hari Raya. He will watch the episode on iPad everyday and he will show me the scene where Upin & Ipin were having the biscuits.. and he will every now and then, asked me "bila mama nak buat biskut ni.. bila mama nak buat biskut ni...?"

Agak-agak larat tak nak dengar.. Rasa macam ada satu burden yang belum terlepas on my shoulder selagi tak buat biskut dahlia tu untuk dia..

So, since I made d pineapple tarts for CNY, I made the Biskut Dahlia also for my beloved son.. 
He was so happy, he started having d biscuits d minute they came out from oven..

LUNCH SEMPOI

Today, I feel very lazy to cook... WHY? Bcos, it seems like I have a long 'to do' list to be completed b4 this coming Chinese Year... and yet I do not sure where to start. Got to look into d list again..

Orange Cake

I would like to share with u guys out there, my family's favourites orange cake. Resepi turun temurun from my mom.

Cake orange ni kesukaan my mom and dad. They don't like other cakes.. ONLY this cake.

I would recommend u guys to try it out.Very simple and easy recipe. Anyone can bake.. U guys can change the flavor as per your preference. Just change the juice.. Mango is nice too..



I called it MANNOR ORANGE CAKE.. as it is my MANap's & NORmah's favourite.

MANNOR ORANGE CAKE

Ingredients :
250g butter
150g castor sugar 
250g Self Raising Flour
4 eggs
85ml orange juice (any brand of ready to drink juice)
1 1/2 tbs grated orange

Method :
1. Cream butter & sugar till fluffy.
2. Add in egg one by one.
3. Add in orange zest
4. Alternately add in flour & orange juice. Start with flour.. End with flour too.

BERRY BERRY CRANBERRIES & RASPBERRIES CHEEZY PANETTONE

Sometime last December, we went to Mid-Valley Mega Mall to kill our time during d school holidays. We wanted to have pre-lunch prior to d real lunch.. So, we went to this Bohemia Bakery @ d Jaya Jusco.

Honestly, being a home baker..  I hardly bought bakery related foods outside. If u can make them yourself, why buy??? 
So, we took a look @ this Bohemia, for something catchy and different.. I saw this one big bread with a cupola shape extended from a cylindrical base. It was very tempting... (sorry, didn't remember to snap a photo of it). The name sounds familiar, but d looks did not ring me a bell. It is called Cranberries Panettone.

The original panettone is a classic Italian bread that can be found throughout Italy especially during Christmas. It is a surprisingly light bread even though it is rich with butter and dried fruits.

  The original recipe of this panettone will require a very long process that will gives it very distinctive fluffy characteristics. Therefore, the original look of this panettone seems to be very formal and elegant. Should u interested to look further, kindly proceed to www.murphysfoodguide.com

BUT d one i bought  from Bohemia was very cool and catchy.. There was sort of buttery and cheezy fillings inside.. Since that day, i always google for this Bohemia Cranberry Panettone recipe. Unfortunately, tak pernah terjumpa pulak..

Eager sangat nak experiment this panettone.. Meanings, i have to mix and match any available recipes to create the cool and funky panettone.

One fine day, i came across a photo of  a recipe called Cranberry Cream Cheese Soft Bun @ www.nasilemaklover.blogspot.com by Sonia. The photo of the inner bun caught me.. Gotcha.. Thank you to Sonia for the fillings idea..

Finally, with the combination idea of original panettone and cream cheese soft bun by Sonia... here comes  my
