These cute Steam Cakes OR Apam needs no introduction as it used to be popular amongst blogger.
Some prefer to have it plain and some prefer it with fillings such as kaya, blueberry & strawberry.
As for myself, I like to have it plain.

You may pipe any other design that you like...
You can have a simple swirl OR dot.. dot.. like these
OR may b cute and weird emoticons OR Angry Bird like these...
OR perhaps, may be try to pipe them into a Lady Bugs, Bees OR Ninja Turtle design, as I did...
And this is how they looked like when they're done!
Apam Polka Dot
Ingredients :
275g flour
220g castor sugar (if with filling, reduced to 200g ONLY)
150ml milk or evaporated milk
3 tsp baking powder
5 egg - from fridge
1 tsp ovalette
1 tsp vanilla essence
Food coloring
Method:1. Combine flour and baking powder, sifted & set aside.
2. In a mixer, beat egg white until fluffy.
3. Add in ovalette, eggs and vanilla essence. Mix well.
4. Add in sugar.
5. Add in flour and milk alternately into the batter.
6. Divide batter into a few portion and add in a few drop of your preferred food coloring.
7. Add in batter into a piping bag. Pipe the batter into paper cups until it is 3/4 full.
8. Using piping bag of different colour, pipe small dot on top.
9. Steam for 10 to 12 minutes.
10. Ready to serve.
